Please join us in welcoming sweet Clementine to the HBR foster family this week.

Clementine was surrendered to HBR when her family could no longer care for her. She is 3-4 years old and has had a few litters already. HBR will be getting her vetted and spayed asap.

THIS is what freedom looks like.

Please join us in welcoming handsome Owen to the HBR foster family this week. Owen is a 4 year old Boxer/Lab mix who lived in a basement his entire life. Thanks to a rescue colleague for helping spring him and getting him straight to the vet. Owen had the WORST case of fleas that our friend had ever seen ?

THANK YOU Jill for opening your home to Owen and getting him ready for his FUR-EVER home.

THANK YOU Anastassia, Chris, Jenna and family for your help in getting Owen where he needed to be.

So far we have learned that Owen LOVES being outside, he is a happy fellow but he prefers not to share a home with other animals. While he loves to play with big dogs outside, he is still learning that he does not need to be territorial over his home. Poor guy is getting to know that there is a world beyond a basement.

Owen has been treated for his severe flea infestation, he has been neutered, treated for an ear infection and had all of his shots.

♡♡HAPPY TAILS: FLEURY (FORMERLY STROMBOLI)!♡♡

Sarah and Rich adopted FLEURY from HBR just over a year ago! As he celebrates his first Gotcha Day, we checked in with the family to see how he is doing!

Sarah shared that he “loves to be outside. Enjoys playing fetch and being on the trampoline with his human sisters and brother. Enjoys rough housing and watching the birds in the backyard with his fur brother Gus.”

“Fleury has had no issues adapting to his new home. He made himself right at home by taking over everyone’s favourite spot on the couch. It is a battle every night to see who is going to get it. Once you have it, you don’t want to move because you know someone will steal it if you do (and it’s usually one of the dogs).”

“Adoption has been very rewarding. Knowing that we have given a loving home to an animal in need is a great feeling. Fleury has made our home complete. Fleury is a very loving dog and forgets his size most of the time as he crawls up on our laps like he weighs 8lbs instead of 80! He is loved by everyone who knows him and will give you all the slobbery kisses in the world if you let him.”

Sounds like Fleury found his perfect forever family! Thank you for choosing adoption and making him sooo happy!♡

HBR is a volunteer-run, small scale dog rescue group located in Ontario, Canada. We are non-profit, and foster home based, meaning we have no kennel facilities where our dogs are kept. Each rescue dog lives temporarily in a volunteer's home until their Forever Home is found.
