Bonjour and comment ca va?!

Pierre, or PP as we have been calling him has been crashing with us all summer and we have made a lot of progress. He loves the outdoors and can actually be found smelling flowers and rolling through freshly cut grass and even in mud puddles! Being outside makes for a tired PP at the end of the day and he sleeps through the night but has been known to get up, grab a ball and plop it on your head at 4 a.m.

Pierre and my dog haven’t become friends yet; however, they are warming up to each other and with strict boundaries this has been made a little easier. He is a sweet boy who needs rules, access to lots of exercise and outdoor time and he will continue to thrive and be his best little self.

Like many frenchies has food allergies and is on limited-ingredient food to help with the itchies as well he will need to be on his eye drops forever. He gets them twice a day and while he is not a huge fan, he knows that he gets a high-quality treat after. Pierre would do best in a home with older kids who will give him his space and let him come to them. He is a sweet boy and with ongoing training and strict rules will only get sweeter!

Home Requirements for Pierre:

  • Experienced dog owner
  • Yard
  • Older kids (teen) or none at all
  • No dogs
  • No cats

WELCOME, REBEL AND RUBIE

Sweet momma River with her 2 pups – Rebel and Rubie. River came into HBR’s care just a short time ago and, surprise, she was pregnant! Via emergency c-section, River had four tiny puppies. Unfortunately we lost 2 smaller pups shortly after birth. We understand that these things happen despite everyone’s best efforts. Please send healing/positive vibes to River and foster mom, Ashley, who has remained a trooper throughout all of this. 🙏

River is a wonderful mom, and like many mothers, is often forgetting to take care of her own needs. Thankful for Ashley, our vetting partners and supporters for ensuring River is well looked after. ❤If you’re able to donate to their care, please do so at www.canadahelps.org.

Hello, I’m Saddie and I’m almost three years old!!!

I’m a big couch potato who is always down for Netflix and snuggles. I really love people, so much in fact I prefer not to be left home without them. Car rides are my jam, I do however like the window seat best. I am a massive snuggle bug who never turns down a back scratch. I’m a smart sophisticated lady charming my way through life. Once we can visit again, I hope to bring back my social life as I love having coffee with the human ladies. My dream people would be home all day with no other pets, I do like the little humans I just prefer them a little older so they understand my boundaries.

Home requirements for Saddie:

  • No other pets
  • She does show signs of seperation anxiety and would be best with people who are home all day
  • Detached home away from other animals
  • Strong handler, needs some leash work

HBR is a volunteer-run, small scale dog rescue group located in Ontario, Canada. We are non-profit, and foster home based, meaning we have no kennel facilities where our dogs are kept. Each rescue dog lives temporarily in a volunteer's home until their Forever Home is found.
